Anyone Can Build, Publish, and Sell Games on Xbox One

Microsoft has announced another big policy change for the Xbox One.  Indie games can now be self-published.  With the Xbox 360, developers had to sign with a publisher and jump through a lot of hoops in order to get their game onto the Xbox marketplace.  Microsoft has also announced that every Xbox One console can be turned into a dev kit.  That means that anyone can develop, build, publish, and sell their creations and games. They will also have the ability to take advantage of Xbox Live, Achievements, The Cloud, and Kinect.
"Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development.  That every game and experience can take advantage of all of the features of Xbox One and Xbox LIVE. "This means self-publishing.  This means Kinect, the cloud, achievements.  This means great discoverability on Xbox LIVE.  We'll have more details on the program and the timeline at gamescom in August." ~ Microsoft
